Dave Stubbs on ‘A life of crime (prevention)

Dave Stubbs served as a police officer and staff member for over 40 years, mostly in Berkshire, with a strong emphasis on community policing and crime prevention. He was an area beat officer for Wash Common for 16 years, receiving the Shrievalty merit award.

Working as Newbury's first full time schools’ liaison officer, Dave became the first officer in the country to achieve a Master’s degree in Crime Prevention and Community Safety.

Digging up musket balls from the Civil War on his old beat generated a passion for history and his pride in his lifetime of work with the police continues in his support for the Thames Valley Police museum
