Talk at 7.30 pm given by Kirsten Ash at St George the Martyr, 206 Andover Road.

The History of Tea, and the Etiquette of Afternoon Tea

Kirsten Ash, after training as a Montessori teacher, has had a very varied career, running a publishing company, converting a 16th century house in France, volunteering in Towcester Museum and her local Historical Society, and finally as a Tour Guide in both English and French at Woburn Abbey.  She has recently left this post to become a freelance speaker.  In this talk she will cover the history of tea and its consumption over the ages, and especially the ritual of afternoon tea as taken in stately homes and elsewhere.
