Talk at 7.30 pm given by Charles Clarke at St George the Martyr, 206 Andover Road,  Wash Common, Newbury, RG14 6NU (See Links page for directions).

The Rebirth of a Railway.

Charles is a retired legal draughtsman who has enjoyed a love of the railways since the age of 2.

The subject of the talk deals with the restoration of the Welsh Highland railway, using then and now photographs of the 25-mile-long restored heritage railway from Caernarfon to Porthmadog.  The restoration, which was performed mainly by volunteers, has received a number of awards.
